Cardiac Arrest

Having a automated defibrillator on site could save lives.  In the time it takes to call the emergency services and for them to arrive on site, could be too long for the victim and too late.

Having a defibrillator on site should be as common as having a fire extinguisher.  It would mean that immediate action could take place in the first few minutes and ultimately save a life.

Did you know?

  • There are 140,000 to 200,000 Cardiac Arrests each year in the UK.  The faster medical help is administered the best the chance of survival.
  • Medical assistance is essential within the first 4 or 5 minutes of the Cardiac Arrest.  Access to a defibrillator is vital in helping to save lives.
  • Statistics indicate that survival rate using CPR only is around 5%. Using a defibrillator increases the survival rate to 50%
  • According to the British Heart Foundation's GP Guide, the development of the automated external defibrillator is the most important development for resuscitation for many years.
  • Due to the number of Cardiac Arrests every year currently, it is reasonable to suggest that a defibrillator would be used at least once or twice in a year.
  • Most businesses that have a defibrillator almost never have them regularly testing and calibrated

If you have a defibrillator that needs testing and calibrating, gives us a call and we will be happy to advise you on the Best Practice guidelines for maintaining your equipment
